ProjectArt Students Exhibition
ProjectArt transforms public libraries into vital cultural hubs through artist residencies where contemporary artists teach free after-school art classes. Join us as we celebrate all of our amazing students!! Each student has participated in our 9-month program working with resident artists to create unique works of art.
Led by local artists, the ProjectArt curriculums provide a pathway for students to engage in the arts within their own communities. Our program is grounded in the idea that the artistic process allows students to further develop critical thinking skills, pro-social behavior, and positive expression of their ideas and emotions. Resident artists teach an all-encompassing and global view of art, exposing students to creative processes while encouraging them to make artwork inspired by their local community, heritage, and personal identity.
Project Art’s students are inspired by engaging lessons that allow them to achieve, connect, and thrive—impressing a worldview rooted in art, developing a lifelong passion for learning in the arts, and expounding on the value of our nation’s public libraries.
**Special thank you to RedBull House of Art and the Detroit Public Library **
